- Overcoming the tiredness. Sleep when your baby sleeps. Domestic work can wait.
- Bathe your baby in plain water and avoid baby wipes for the first month. Your baby's skin is very thin and is more sensitive to damage from germs, chemicals and water loss.
- A new born takes time to adjust to the new world she's arrives into. Soothe and settle your baby by gently rocking her in your baby by gently rocking her in your arms. Try cooing or singing to entertain your little one.
- Look after yourself. Eat regular meals to help keep your energy levels.
- Baby bulge. Don't expect to return your pre-pregnancy shape immediately. Wear clothes that flatter your assets. Don't emphasize the areas you'd rather not draw attention to.
- Visitors. Don't overload yourself with visitors as they can leave you feeling exhausted.
- Pack your nappy bag and keep it by the door. Never leave the house without at full change of clothing, a couple of nappies, wipes and or cotton wool.
